Dylan Jensen

Composer for Video Games & Interactive Media

As a composer focused on games and interactive media, my expertise center around creating orchestral JRPG music that is cinematic, rich, and immersive for the player experience. I'm currently focused on developing commercial music assets and building a portfolio that showcases my ability to craft the most perfect, immersive, memorable scores for games. If you grew up on classics such as Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest, etc. and find yourself in love with more modernized OSTs like Octopath Traveler and Ori and the Blind Forest, I might just be the composer you need to bridge that timeless flavor something a bit more modern.

Work

Most of my work is currently in the drafting stages. The tracks I am working on the most will be featured in my upcoming VGM pack which is to be released on developer asset stores before the end of 2026. However, some of these and my other relevant work are available on my Youtube channel linked below upon personal request via email. My work with Utah Public Radio is currently my most official and published work.

About

Dylan Jensen, also known as "DJ" by many of his peers, is a vocalist, pianist, and violinist. Currently an undergraduate student at Utah State University, he is pursuing multiple degrees. His primary focus among these, is a B.A. in Music Composition, and a Certificate in Audio Technology.Growing up in northern Utah's Cache Valley, much of Dylan's childhood was spent playing video games with friends which resulted in lifelong fascination with video game music. Today, that same passion drives him to study video game sountracks, challenge himself with unfamiliar concepts and styles, and advocate for education in audio for interactive media.Dylan presently interns with Utah Public Radio, doing mixing and recording for the Corner Concert Series. He plans to continue his studies in graduate school and beyond to become both a composer and ludomusicologist. Inspired by composers such as Gareth Coker, Yasunori Nishiki, and Nobuo Uematsu, he hopes to contribute to the growing field of game music through creative work and academic research.
